Renewable Control Systems/Electrical Engineer
Joining our team means you’ll be part of something that really matters. As our Renewable Control Systems Engineer, you will be based in Bentley, and responsible for providing Distributed Energy Resources (DER) Technologies engineering support to ensure cost effective and fit-for-purpose DER Technologies are designed and implemented to support business objectives.
This is a permanent full-time position.
Your role will include:
- Supporting the design and implementation of DER technologies to monitor, control, and optimise distributed solar PV, batteries, electric vehicle charging, and loads
- Monitoring performance of DER technologies and identifying opportunities for improvement
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant internal and external rules and regulations
- Promoting cross unit and division engagement and alignment
- Promoting continuous improvement, focusing on improved service quality, increased efficiency and cost savings
You will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Technology, Engineering or a related discipline is mandatory
- Demonstrated experience in engineering and / or technology within an operational environment, preferably within an electrical utility
- Experience programming in C#, PowerShell, and/or Python
- Working knowledge of Windows, Excel, TCP Networking, SQL, and/or Linux
- Experience with Aveva/OSIsoft Pi Historian
- An understanding of power systems and power system control systems
- An interest in technology, renewable energy, VPPs, and being at the cutting edge of the energy transition
- An analytical, detailed orientated mindset, a strong sense of curiosity, and a desire to learn and solve problems
- Solid teamwork skills and an ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
