A recent educational forum in Queensland has given valuable advice to business on minimising risk and preventing injuries at work.

The WorkCover-hosted forum has brought together industry associations, employers and employees from business of every kind, to discuss injury management, prevention, and better ways to work together in general.

WorkCover Customer Services Manager Melissa Steadman said the forum was an opportunity for employers to discuss challenges smaller businesses face, and how those involved can put strategies in place to assist and work through these challenges.

The conversations were two-directional, with employers providing valuable feedback on current industry conditions. A major issue to come out of the talks was the need for better pre-employment medical assessments, as well as strategies for a smooth return to work after injury.
