An engineer has been awarded one of the country’s top honours on the Queen’s Birthday list.

Dr Doug McInnes has been awarded an Order of Australia Medal (OAM) for his services to geotechnical engineering and important contributions to several professional organisations.

Dr McInnes earned his Bachelor of Engineering in Adelaide, a Master of Engineering in Canada and his PhD in Western Australia.

His work has crossed various industries, working with Main Roads and the West Australian Pavements Group. He also completed doctoral research on naturally occurring gravels in road construction and pavement design.
