Synnex to construct new logistics centre in Sydney
Synnex Australia has commenced construction of its new logistics centre in Lidcombe. The fully automated logistics centre will create about 150 jobs during construction and 100 new jobs over three years from completion.
Synnex, a global IT supply chain services company, is investing $45 million in the site, machinery, technology and construction. Synnex Australia is a division of a Taiwanese-headquartered company Synnex Technology International Corporation, the largest IT distribution company in the Asia Pacific and the third largest worldwide.
Synnex CEO, Mr Kee Ong, said the company had decided to expand its NSW operations because of its long term commitment to the Australian market.
"Western Sydney is a strategic location for Synnex to cope with the growing customer demand in NSW and Queensland. The resources and support provided by government at State and local level will enable Synnex to access local and skilled talent for this advanced logistics centre," Mr Ong said.
