Submissions sought for changes in Stevedoring regulation
Public comment is now open and submissions welcomed on proposed changes to the Work Health and Safety Code of Practice for Managing Risks in Stevedoring.
Planned amendments are open for discussion until Friday July 19 at 5pm.
Stevedoring is a high-risk occupation with many unique challenges. Proposed changes include the involvement of articles of Marine Orders to current regulations, to cover workers on vessels as well as dockside. Safe Work Australia is also seeking guidance on possible changes to mooring and unmooring regulations.
