New firm digs into rural mine safety
A new company focused on mine safety and emergency response is getting off the ground.
Response Services Australia (RSA) says it wants to fill a gap in Australia's resources industry.
It is looking to operate largely in remote and regional parts of Australia, within the mining, oil and gas, and construction sectors.
Onsite specialist response, rescue, and recovery services are among its offerings, and it is introducing itself with some free site assessments.
According to industry press Australian Mining, the company has “commenced operations with the aim of setting new standards for site emergency services and giving companies a single source for obtaining staffing, supply chain, and accredited training services”
RSA awaits the diverse needs of mining projects.
“Companies need a flexible approach so they can scale up or down accordingly, while ensuring safety and quality standards are maintained,” RSA's MD Darryl Cook said.
“In response to market demand, RSA has created a new role of Site Support Officer; [this position is] more than just emergency responders, our SSO hold multiple industry qualifications and can respond to any emergency whether it relates to fire, rescue, recovery, hazardous material, medical, or security incidents".
“Most importantly they are trained to prevent incidents from occurring in the first place.”
