Blacktown First Of Dozens Of NSW Health Facility Upgrades
Before he unveiled the NSW budget, Treasurer Mike Baird and Health Minister Jillian Skinner inspected early works on the state’s largest hospital building project, part of the budget’s $1.2 billion slated for health capital works.
The five-storey clinical services building on the Blacktown campus is the centrepiece of the $324 million Blacktown Mt Druitt Hospital expansion project.
“The NSW Government is committed to delivering world-class services to meet the growing health needs of the people of NSW, in western Sydney and across the state,” said Skinner.
The state of the art Blacktown campus is the first part of dozens of planned and continuing upgrades in the NSW Government’s first-term $4.7 billion health infrastructure program.
Baird says saving money in other places loosened the purse strings for health care.
“The tough decisions we have made means we will commit more than $1.2 billion in health capital works in Tuesday’s Budget for the coming year,” Mr Baird said.
