Mining giant BHP Billiton has announced it has completed the sale of its diamonds business to Dominion Diamond Corporation.

The centrepiece of the sale is the Ekati Diamond Mind in Canada’s Northwest Territories, as well as the related diamond sorting and sales facilities.

The US$500 million sale was first announced in November last year, and was subject to regulatory approval which has now been satisfied.
